KC Precision Machining was founded in 1990 by Bill Casey. As an expert machinist and graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Bill always prided himself in solving complex machining challenges for his customers. His company was established to provide efficient, expert solutions to businesses and individuals. Their primary services include precision machining for Milling, three types of Lathe work, and Miscellaneous other services. They, also, offer a host of other services including metal fabrication, powder coating, and assembly. See link to their brochure below. Their partners and staff technicians serve a wide range of individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations and are experts in the products and issues that impact our clients. Their partners offer the benefits of years of experience gained from their wide customer base. Read more about our machining capabilities in our KC Precision Machining Brochure. Here at MFG.com we pride ourselves in our customer testimonials, and we love to hear how our customers are finding success on the MFG.com platform. We were lucky to sit down with one of their inside sales representatives to get a closer look into the KC Precision Machining experience. Here's what he had to say. 1. Would you please give us a quick overview of your company, how long you've been in business and how many employees you currently have? KC Precision Machine has been in business for about 32 years. It was founded by William Casey right here in Ipswich, MA. Bill sold the company in October 2014 to NSA Industries in S. Johnsbury, VT. Sadly, he passed away in June 2015. We do work for medical, aerospace, defense, automotive, semiconductor, and some consumer products such as 3D printers. We currently have 27 employees in a single shift. 2. Can you describe your role? My role is inside sales. I have the exalted title of 'Customer Development Specialist'. This is a role I have only been filling for the last 4 years. Prior to that, I was in production control. I have been with KC Precision for 14 years. 3. What were some of the pain points in your business that you were searching for a solution to? I am not one that can easily do cold calling, so I needed a tool that could help me develop leads and bring in new business. 4. What was the process your company typically used to discover new business? Mostly through word of mouth, recommendations from current customers, and searches on the internet. 5. What has your experience with MFG.com been like thus far? So far it has been very good. I am still developing a routine so that I can fit it into my work day. But after submitting just 4 individual quotes, we won an order. That was the encouragement I needed to work MFG.com harder to get even more new business. 6. Do you feel that MFG.com has lived up to its mission of being a place of discovery for your business? Absolutely! I was pretty sold on MFG.com from the moment I got an online demo. My biggest problem was convincing upper management that it could be a great tool when used properly. That took time and effort. 7. Are there any features of the platform that you feel are the most helpful and could be helpful to other Suppliers utilizing the platform? I am still new at this, less than 2 weeks of use, to know my way around the system well. It gets easier every day, but I know I am not using it to its fullest potential yet. 8. What is your advice to others who might be considering joining MFG.com? To me, the biggest thing is committing to using the platform. You must know that you will be spending time getting to know the system and how it works. If you have a question, ask your account manager. They are there to help you. You must buy into a system like this. Not just financially, but, also, in time and effort. 9. What are your company's future goals now that you've utilized MFG.com's platform? We are still in the process of developing goals. The past few years have been spent on building our relationships with current customers, expanding our physical footprint, and adding capacity to give us the ability to grow.
