861 patients in 4 days! Thanks everyone that read along about my VOSH trip to the Dominican Republic. Monday and Tuesday we worked out of the ILAC Clinic and examined 423 patients. In addition to dispensing glasses, we were able to refer the following: 44 cataract, 7 cornea, 18 glaucoma, 6 retina, 2 strabismus, 1 hypertensive retinopathy and 1 papilledema (swollen optic nerve). Wednesday and Thursday we worked in a town called Sabano Rey, and examined 438 patients.
