Miranda Rudolph Photography Blog A little birdy told me...

...that I needed to put some of my work that is not portrait related on this site. So I'll start with my sweet little bird friend!Early this past summer I noticed a lot of chirping and Cardinals flying in and out of one of my holly bushes up by my front door. I love watching the birds and noticed this to be an unusual behavior from them so I moved closer to investigate what on earth was so interesting in that bush. I was pleasantly surprised to find a little nest with 2 little baby Cardinal birds in it. Luckily they were in a place that was easy to peer and stick my camera into for good shots. My boys and I would check on the birds every afternoon and we made a little learning experience out of it, as well as documenting it in photographs. One afternoon I went to look at the nest and was surprised to see a sweet little baby bird just sitting on the edge of the nest looking at me. I ran inside quickly to grab my camera and was lucky to capture a shot a lot of people don't catch. After I took my shot I ran the camera back inside and walked back out to see him take his very first flight out of the nest! I eventually was talked into entering my photo into the Calloway County Fair and ended up winning Best Color Photo, Best in Arts and Crafts, and took home Best in Show! He now sits framed on my wall draped with all the ribbons and is one of the photos I'm most proud of. I hope you enjoy it too!
