This morning, we learned the exciting news that the redesigned 2016 Honda Civic was selected as the winner of the coveted 2016 North American Car of the Year award. The award, which is presented at the start of the Detroit Auto Show, recognizes the most outstanding car of the year, based on metrics like value, innovation, performance, handling, and technology.The latest Civic is built around an all-new vehicle architecture, and features sophisticated interior and exterior styling, a more spacious cabin, and a suite of available safety and driver-assistive technologies."The all-new Civic was developed and is built in North America, making this 2016 North American Car of the Year win even sweeter," said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager. "Civic is a cornerstone of the Honda lineup, and we're delighted that the automotive press has recognized the new levels of styling, performance, advanced technology, safety and value that characterize the new Civic."The 2016 North American Car and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) awards are not presented by a single media outlet. Instead, they are given by a diverse group of 53 independent journalists from across the United States and Canada.
