The all-new 2016 Civic sedan is just around the corner, as production began yesterday at plants in Greensburg, Indiana and Alliston, Ontario. Now in its 10th generation, the Civic is said to be the "most ambitious remake in the model's 43-year history." Over the past three years, Honda Manufacturing of Indiana has implemented new manufacturing processes and technologies in the Greensburg facility; an investment totaling more than $95 million.Bob Nelson, president of Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, said of the company's flagship compact: "The Honda Civic is one of the most successful and enduring models in our company's history. Our team of Indiana associates is incredibly proud to build this new and innovative Civic Sedan and we are committed to using our experience to deliver the tremendous quality and reliability that our customers expect."Since 1986, North American facilities have produced more than nine million Civics, and 4.5 million in the United States alone. Honda Manufacturing of Indiana began production in 2008 and has turned out more than one million Civics.Since it was first produced in 1973, the Civic has become Honda's global best-selling vehicle, with total sales in the United States totaling more than 10.2 million cars.Here at Mt.
