Hello, valued readers, from snowy, slushy Atlanta. Things are warming up a bit today, and the winter storm advisory expired, so I suppose we've seen the last of this nasty weather at least for this week. Warmer temps for next week are predicted. I will send warmth to my dear friends in New England who can't get a break from the snow. Spring can't arrive soon enough.According to USAToday, 2014 Children's Choice Book Awards Illustrator of the Year Grace Lee has illustrated this year's CBW Poster. Children's Book Week is May 4-10, 2015.This year's charming poster that Lee created shows a brother and sister enjoying a book by flashlight in their cardboard box castle. Lee is the storybook artist at Disney Publishing Worldwide, according to USA Today, who illustrates the Sofia the First series. If you look closely, you can see Mickey, Sofia and Winnie the Pooh looking in on the late night fun. This year's CBW marks the 96th annual event, celebrating and fostering a love of reading to children. Events during this special week include read-alouds, visits from noted childrens authors and book parties and celebrations. More details will be shared here as they become available.
