Neuhaus Foot And Ankle PC Blog All toes on deck this summer!

Summer is quickly approaching, and warmer weather is already taking place. Protect your feet from the heat this year to fully enjoy the summer weather.Beach trips, pool days, and bare feet are all at the center fold of summer activities. The feeling of freedom as your toes dangle in the water, without shoes constricting them is one of the best feelings for most... until your feet get burnt, wounded or achy. Here are some quick ways to protect your feet as the weather heats up, so you can enjoy your time to the fullest!1. Limit your time walking barefoot as much as possible. Not only can your feet get sunburned, but you can get a plantar wart, athlete's foot and other infections by exposing your feet where everyone else's feet are as well. 2. Wear flip-flops around the pool, locker rooms, or even in the hotel to avoid catching a bacterial infection. 3. Your feet are one of the most vulnerable areas for sunburn, so do not forget to put the sunscreen on them as well. 4. Stay hydrated to keep your feet from swelling from the heat. If you injure your foot or ankle on vacation, do not hesitate to seek help. You can always call our office (615)220-8788 or schedule an appointment on our website.
