NXP Semiconductors: NXP CEO: Layoffs continue to reduce redundancies from mega-tech merger

NXP Semiconductors NV, the Dutch company that last year purchased Austin's Freescale Semiconductor Inc., is still smoothing over the chipmakers' merger - and that means eliminating positions to reduce redundancies. While NXP CEO Rick Clemmer did not say how many or if positions would be eliminated in Austin, he said layoffs were ongoing, the Austin-American Statesman reports.
