Ben Aune, president and CEO of what he calls one of the "best kept secrets" in the local nonprofit world, is stepping down June 30 after nine years at the helm of Operation Access. The lean, 14-person San Francisco nonprofit connects hundreds of surgeons, nurses, medical technicians and other medical volunteers with people who can't afford to pay for health care.
