Oaks Member Testimonials: Why You Should JoinWe've been recruiting new members to join the Oaks Golf Course for the 2017 year. For anyone out there who is still debating on becoming a member, we asked some of our current club members why they love playing at the Oaks. Hear from members within our very Oaks family about their experiences here and why you should join, too! We caught up with Randy Eaton, practicing his favorite sport on our green. Randy is the Previous Gross Club Champion and current Senior Club Champion of the Oaks Tournament and has been a member of the Oaks Course for 15 years! When we asked what he enjoyed most about being a member, he said "I just enjoy playing at The Oaks. I love the variety of the holes. It's historically in the best shape of any other courses in the area. It's challenging, and I enjoy playing here on a regular basis. It fits my game." Another proud member of our Oaks Course, Rick Rasmussen, says "I have been a member of The Oaks for about 10 years. As a teacher and the boys' basketball coach at Newton High School, I have always appreciated how the Schulz family have supported our school and our community. The Oaks Course is right around the corner from NHS, so it is great to be a member there and coach the NHS golf team as well. It is a fair test for players of all levels and is always in great shape." Avis Williams has been a member of our course for over three years. An experienced sportswoman, Avis says her favorite hole to play is Number 13 because of the tricky dogleg right. She adores the design of the golf course and says there's no other course quite like the Oaks. We even spoke with Bob Britton who has been a member for over 21 years! He always enjoys coming back to his favorite golf course and playing his favorite hole, Number 5. Why? "Because the distance of the fairway when I drive the ball to reach the green. It gives me a distinct advantage and enables me to get a birdie.
