Ocean Properties: Ocean Properties buys former Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel

The Sarasota hotel once owned by Leona Helmsley’s dog has a new owner. Ocean Properties Ltd. acquired former Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel on Lido Beach in Sarasota and renamed it The Sandcastle Resort at Lido Beach. The hotel complex, located at 1540 Ben Franklin Drive, includes a 600-foot private beach. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. A request for further details is pending response.
