ORCAS: Philips buys Eugene medical device maker for $36M

The health care arm of European-based technology firm Royal Philips is buying Eugene-based medical device maker Electrical Geodesics Inc. for roughly $36.7 million. Electrical Geodesics makes non-invasive devices used to monitor brain activity and help make diagnoses. Founded in 1992, the company has 90 employees. Last year it had revenue of $14.3 million.
