Entergy's 2024 Environmental Initiatives Fund Grants Organization Project Description Entergy Service Area Adopt A Charge Up! Arkansas The funding will support expanding the Charge Up! Arkansas initiative by Arkansas Charger adding seven potential locations at high visibility locations in Arkansas. Arbor Day Energy-Saving Trees Program Energy-Saving Trees, a strategic tree planting initiative focused on the "right Arkansas, Foundation tree, right place" approach, will provide 1000 residential customers with a Louisiana, free tree to plant in their yards through. Mississippi, Texas Audubon Party for the Planet event + Woldenberg Two Audubon Nature Institute programs - a series of sustainability education New Orleans Nature Riverfront Park Power Carbon Reduction events and the electrification of Woldenberg Riverfront Park, a 16-acre green Institute space in Downtown New Orleans between the Mississippi River and the French Quarter - were selected for funding. The "Party for the Planet" annual series includes educational events at Audubon facilities such as Spring Into Action, Earth Day, Endangered Species Day, World Oceans Day and Pollination Celebration. Electrification of Woldenberg Park will reduce its carbon impact by eliminating the need to use portable diesel generators from its operations. Baton Rouge Living Roadways The funding will support the Baton Rouge Green Association's maintenance Louisiana Green of trees along Harding Blvd, including replacing ones that were lost to Association drought in 2023. Big Thicket Restoring and Improving Butterfly Habitat The Big Thicket Biosphere Reserve will restore and improve its butterfly Texas Biosphere in the Big Thicket Biosphere Reserve of habitats and provide community educational opportunities. Reserve Texas City of Groundwater Storage Tank Mixer The City of Somerville will use the provided funding to install a mixer in its Texas Sommerville ground water storage tank to help eliminate trihalomethanes in the water. Delta The Delta Menagerie and the Great River Delta Compass will use the provided funding to support redevelopment of an Mississippi Compass Road Market EPA Brownfield site (The Delta Menagerie) and sustainable cooperative farming (The Great River Road Market) in Greenville, Mississippi. Entergy's 2024 Environmental Initiatives Fund Grants Friends of Rougarou Fest Friends of South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Foundation has been Louisiana South awarded funding to support Rougarou Fest, its free festival celebrating the Louisiana folklore and culture of Southeast Louisiana. The event focuses on Wetlands Louisiana's coastal land loss issues, and funds raised from the festival Discovery support the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center. Foundation Grounds Mardi Gras 2025 Waste Reduction Grounds Krewe will use its funding to continue producing The Sustainable New Orleans Krewe Throw Catalog, which offers Mardi Gras Krewes sustainable alternatives to traditional throws with the goal of reducing the amount of landfill-bound waste produced by parades. Lake Lake Hamilton/Lake Catherine Emergency Lake Hamilton Fire & Rescue will use its grant award to purchase hazardous Arkansas Hamilton Fire Response materials mitigation supplies for emergency response and containment in & Rescue and around Arkansas' Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine. Mississippi Wildlife Hospital Nature Center The funding will allow Mississippi Wildlife Rehabilitation to build new Mississippi Wildlife enclosures to house education ambassador raptors and add flight cages for Rehabilitation conditioning rehabilitated birds for release back to the wild as part of its plans to open the Valery E. Smith Nature Center as a free destination for the public. The Nature East Texas Resilience: Forests and The award will support The Nature Conservancy Texas's work to restore and Texas Conservancy Prescribed Fire steward the longleaf pine ecosystem in the 5,673-acre Roy E. Larsen Texas Sandyland Sanctuary in Kountze, Texas, through invasive species control, prescribed fires and native ecosystem function. Pheasants Bringing Back Bobwhite Quail to Louisiana Pheasants Forever will use the funding to work with public land managers on Louisiana Forever focused habitat restoration and enhancement practices on public lands in conjunction with Hands on Habitat volunteer projects. Land management practices will include prescribed fires, overstory reduction, and hack and squirt treatments. Rebuilding Energy Efficiency Home Repair Program With this grant, Rebuilding Together NOLA will be able to continue the New Orleans Together energy efficiency repair portion of its "Safe at Home" repairs program for low- NOLA income veteran, elderly, and or disabled homeowners who would otherwise be unable to afford home repairs. Entergy's 2024 Environmental Initiatives Fund Grants Refill Jackson Green Corps The funding will support one year of implementation of youth-positive Mississippi Jackson programs in a variety of environmental and conservation projects that will Initiative provide participants instruction on life skills and how to receive and respond to feedback in real-life settings. Urban Building Climate Resilience and Urban Conservancy will use this grant to help build climate resilience and New Orleans Conservancy Biodiversity in the "Gateway to New biodiversity in the Melia and Pines Village neighborhoods of New Orleans Orleans East": Melia and Pines Village East through initiatives to educate residents on green infrastructure best Neighborhoods practices and how they reduce flood risk and energy costs by increasing water storage, countering the urban heat island effect, and increasing biodiversity. Woodlands Restoring Habitat for resident and This grant will support Woodlands Conservancy's efforts to restore native Louisiana Conservancy migratory birds understory in forested areas where non-native, invasive vegetation has been removed. Once dead and fallen non-native trees are removed and/or turned into mulch, community and corporate volunteers will fill the gaps in the forest understory with plants of high nutritional benefit to birds.
