(Alliance News) - Intesa Sanpaolo Spa has been recognized as the only Italian bank, the first in Europe and the second globally among the 100 most sustainable listed companies in the world. As Il Sole 24 Ore writes Thursday, the recognition comes from the Corporate Knights ranking, presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which analyzed some 8,400 large global companies with a minimum turnover of USD1.0 billion. The ranking evaluates companies on 25 indicators, including resource management, sustainable investment and carbon emissions reduction. Only companies that integrate sustainable solutions into their business offerings and invest significantly to reduce their environmental impact are included in the Corporate Knights Global 100 Index.
