Meati: Meati Foods Hit by Unexpected Financial Crisis, Leading to Difficult Layoffs

© Meati FoodsMeati Foods has issued a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) announcing the permanent termination of 150 employees at its Thornton, Colorado, manufacturing facility. The layoffs will begin on May 6, 2025. According to the company, the decision follows an unexpected financial action by its lender, which removed cash from Meati's accounts and took control of the remaining reserves on February 28, 2025. In a letter to employees, the company stated that the action was "not reasonably foreseeable" and resulted in an inability to continue operations at the facility.
