Mercy: Mercy Teams Up with Humana to Increase Access to Primary Care for Patients 65+

Mercy and Humana are teaming up to open new 65 Prime+ by Mercy Primary Care clinics, which are specifically geared toward making it easier for patients who are 65 years and older on Medicare to get the care, education and support they need. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of adults who are 65 and older has increased by more than a third over the past decade. Mercy introduced 65 Prime+ clinics in 2023 to meet the changing health care needs of this growing population with the first clinic in Joplin, Missouri. Today, Mercy operates five 65 Prime+ clinics across Missouri. By collaborating with Humana, Mercy plans to increase the number of these clinics across Missouri, and there are talks to further expand into additional states Mercy serves, including Arkansas and Oklahoma. These clinics will be in-network for most Medicare Advantage plans, and they will also accept Original Medicare. Mercy and Humana decided to open the first collaborative clinics in 2025 in Springfield and Nixa, Missouri. The first three collaborative 65 Prime+ clinics are scheduled to open in Springfield and Nixa in June 2025. Construction is slated to begin in early 2025. From there, Mercy and Humana plan to open several more 65 Prime+ clinics in Missouri.
