Panasonic: Firmware updates for three Panasonic cameras

Panasonic has issued new firmware for its DC-S9, DC-S1H and DC-G100D mirrorless cameras, which is available to download now. The DC-S9 is one of three Panasonic mirrorless cameras to benefit from recent firmware updates. (Source: Panasonic.) Firmware Version 1.3 for the DC-S9 improves the start-up speed of the camera as well as operational stability. It also applies the following security enhancements - When directly connecting the camera and smartphone via Wi-Fi, the connection has been changed to always require password authentication. (The [Wi-Fi Password] menu has been removed.) - The [TKIP] encryption method is no longer supported when connecting to Wi-Fi via an access point. - The [No Encryption] option in network authentication is no longer supported when connecting to Wi-Fi via an access point. - The image transfer feature to PC via Wi-Fi has been removed.
