Week 4: Location and Starting WorkThe first tasks after we assembled the team included the setup of servers, establishing an office location and setup of business infrastructure such as payroll, accounting and health care. Walter always maintained that if he started a company it would be located near his home in Maple Grove, MN. We set up shop in an office in Brooklyn Park, MN, just 2 exits down I-694 from Maple Grove. We're proud of our Minnesota presence, but not everyone was Minnesota-based. Our CTO and Software Engineer were working remote from the bay area in California, which is something most of us were very familiar with having come from large corporations with world-wide footprints. Setting up the office continued a pace (with even Walter and Jon our Director of Engineering pulling CAT-5/6 cable through the ceilings of the office) throughout June and into July.Above: Suite #105 was completely redone to suit our needs and color scheme. No cubes for us!Starting in July 2013, the company was fully setup and product development came into full swing. The first appliance, Draco (appliances and internal servers named for constellations or Star Trek ships...), and the first demo system were ready by August 30th and presented to the Board of Directors on September 3rd 2013. We were well on the path to creating the HyperQ.®Next Up: The HyperQ® Emerges!Read last week's entry on "Parsec Labs: The Innovators" here. https://www.parseclabs.com/theinnovators
