The raccoon knew what to take—and it would do anything in doing so!Raccoons are mischievous but lovable furry creatures that bring a bit of the wild into suburban areas. Raccoons are very adaptable animals and they have been moving from country to the city in large numbers. Like humans, the raccoons find urban life offers convenience and easy access to food. The best way to attract these little critters is to put food out for them—if you can handle them.Janna Breslin had gone on a vacation at Weeki Wachee Springs, Florida, with several of her friends and had a shocking encounter with a raccoon. Raccoons can be all furry and cute, but they can be extremely mischievous at times. Janna never thought her experience would be as shocking and scary. One of Janna’s companions filmed the furry thief while it swam from one canoe to another. As soon as the racoon started approaching Janna’s canoe, she pushed the animal away with her paddle. However, it was no use for the raccoon’s mischief. The furry thief soon got on Janna’s canoe, prompting the latter to get into the water.“I guess you could say I’m protective over my food, I still can’t believe that actually happened!!! Yesterday was my first encounter with a wild and very curious raccoon,” Janna wrote on YouTube.
“I’m not happy I had to bonk him on the head, I tried to nicely keep him away from me and my things but once I felt he was not going to let go of my clothing and food, I made a split decision to make sure my belongings were safe,” she added. As soon as the raccoon saw Janna getting off, he immediately grabbed her bag which contained food and clothes. Fortunately, Janna was fast enough to grab onto her bag before it could be taken away. Seeing it was a losing struggle, the raccoon swam and scurried away. She continued, “As you can see he swam away and was totally fine. We even saw him walking around an hour later and tried to come up to us again.“Probably the highlight of my Florida trip.”
