More hairdressers, barbers and beauty salons opened in 2016 than any other type of business. This news was confirmed by the recent Local Data Company's (LDC) Leisure and Retail report. This business sector has overtaken the previous leader, coffee shops, tea-rooms and take-aways.The hair and beauty industry saw the highest number of new businesses opening with hairdressers, beauty salons, barbers, and nail salons also occupying four of the individual top ten slots.
