Pepper Body Blog NEW FINDINGS: How Do Women Feel About Having A Small Chest?

At Pepper we hope to inspire women with small cup sizes to celebrate their bodies exactly as they are with bras that make you look and feel good. The need for a company like Pepper came from those moments when you looked in the mirror and felt like you weren't enough, got teased in middle school for having a 'boy body', or endured bulky push-up bras to avoid cup gaps. Any of these experiences sound familiar? I always thought that there was something wrong with ME, because even though I was purchasing the correct size bra (I must have measured myself a dozen times just to make sure) nothing ever fit right. I always felt like a little girl playing dress up wearing bras that clearly didn't fit. Society makes small-chested women feel as if we aren't "real" women, and unfortunately, I've bought into those lies for all these years. - Lauren U. At a dress fitting in high school, the (male) seamstress kept asking me whether I had on a bra. I insisted I did, but he eventually handed me two pieces of thick padding. Once I put slipped them into my bra, he exclaimed, "Aha! Now you have bust!" My family and I laughed, but I was mortified. - Rosie L.  If you've ever felt this way about your body, you're not the only one. As part of our mission to encourage more self-love and eliminate harmful body image associated with this body type, we conducted an online survey of 832 women in August 2019 to learn how women feel about having a small chest. We wanted to know how pervasive the problem was so that we could change it. 91% wish their boobs were bigger 77% say society thinks women are less attractive because of a smaller chest size Conclusion: There's more to be done as a society and community to instill the belief that all bodies are good bodies. We are constantly bombarded with messages that we're not enough and need to look different to look great. We're here to put an end to that and tell you that you're perfect the way you are. We're doing this first with bras designed perfectly for you, but it won't stop there. Want to be part of this movement?
