Petronas: Petronas Lubricants-Quaker Houghton Partnership to Boost Industrial Metalworking Sectors in Malaysia, India

KUALA LUMPUR (April 17): Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) and industrial process fluids company, Quaker Houghton, have formed a strategic partnership to provide products, solutions and services for key industrial sectors in Malaysia and India. A joint statement on Thursday said both companies could leverage their product portfolio and geographic market position and provide an expanded range of industrial solutions for customers. "Beginning in the second quarter of 2025 (2Q2025), PLI will be the exclusive distributor of Quaker Houghton's portfolio of world-class metalworking fluids in the transportation and industrial end markets in Malaysia. "In India, Quaker Houghton will offer PLI's range of high-performance maintenance lubricants and industrial fluids to its steel mill customers," it said. PLI group chief strategy and transformation officer Domenico Ciaglia said PLI is committed to building long-term alliances to provide greater product availability and service quality, strengthening its position as the partner of choice in global industrial lubricants. "The team at Quaker Houghton are uniquely positioned to unlock opportunities with us, both in terms of reaching new markets and in being the partner we need to lead the industry into a new era of effective, sustainable service," Ciaglia said. Meanwhile, Quaker Houghton executive vice president, global specialty and chief growth officer Jeewat Bijlani said the partnership enables the company to provide its metalworking fluids to a greater number of customers, noting that Asia is one of its key markets. "PLI has the proven experience, reputation, and channels to support the customer requirements and expand our reach in Malaysia," said Jeewat. According to PLI, the partnership reinforces the companies' shared vision of driving industrial solutions excellence while meeting the evolving needs of modern manufacturing, as both companies will partner and set new standards in performance for industrial applications.
