Polyvore: Verizon subsidiary Oath sells Sunnyvale-based Polyvore, site abruptly shut down

Oath Inc. has sold Polyvore, the 11-year-old e-commerce company it acquired under Yahoo's former leader, Marissa Mayer. Sunnyvale-based Polyvore has been sold to Montreal-based Ssense.com, according to Oath, a subsidiary of Verizon Communications. The deal was announced Thursday with no disclosed price. The buyer said it will shut down Polyvore's website, apps and operations, effective immediately.
