Prema Canada Blog The Smarttrio: What is the Difference?

Introducing PREMA's Smarttrio of Radial Repairs - the PR-109, the PR-110 and the PR115.The PR-109 is a small, reinforced radial repair designed for 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8" injuries in passenger tires. These tires experience low operating pressures and loads. This minimizes the size of the reinforcing ply required to repair these small injuries. In larger tires - light and medium truck - the operating pressures and loads are significantly higher than those of a passenger tire. This requires the PR-110's larger reinforcing ply to support the injured area of the tire. The reinforcing ply of the PR-110 is 30"/ larger than that of the PR-109. The PR-110 is designed to repair 1/8" injuries in medium trucks and 1/8" and 1/4" injuries in light trucks. In severe applications involving excessive loads and high heat an even larger reinforcing platform is recommended to support these higher stresses. The reinforcing ply of the PR-115 is 35% larger than that of the PR-110. It is recommended to use the PR-115 in place of the PR-110 in these severe applications. As explained in the advertisement, each of these repairs will fix a 1/8" injury. To determine which repair to use, the application should be considered in order to maximize success while minimizing the size and cost of the repair.
