Procacci Brothers: Procacci offers foodservice box

Philadelphia-based Procacci Bros. Sales Corp. has a solution for foodservice customers who don't need a standard 40-pound box of bananas, said Carlos Rodriguez, director of sales.The company offers a 10-pound box for foodservice, he said.Almost all of the firm's foodservice buyers ask for the 10-pound box, Rodriguez said.The smaller package is less labor intensive for Procacci Bros. workers and for foodservice employees, he said.The company supplies a large number of independent supermarkets in New York, Pennsylvania and as far south as Virginia, Rodriguez said.Procacci Bros. also trucks bananas to Massachusetts and Connecticut, and serves customers on the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market, he said.
