(Nasdaq: NEOG) acquired Quat-Chem as part of a strategy to expand the Lansing-based company's portfolio of biosecurity business, according to a statement. Quat-Chem manufactures its disinfectants and cleaners for the dairy, poultry and swine industries and generates annual revenues of approximately $12 million.Neogen Europe, the company's Scotland-based subsidiary, will manage operations at Quat-Chem.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.The Quat-Chem deal marks Neogen's third deal thus far this year. In May, Neogen inked a deal with Preserve International and Tetradyne LLC, both subsidiaries of Nevada-based Preserve International Corp. Like Quat-Chem, Preserve International and Tetradyne also manufacture cleaning and disinfectant products for the swine, dairy, poultry and food processing markets.A month earlier the company acquired Brazil-based Deoxi Biotecnologia Ltda, an operator of an animal genomics lab.
