Ready Real Estate Blog How's the real estate market in Dallas-Fort Worth?

I am always impressed with the number of people who are interested in the state of the local real estate market. I can understand why they are since many of them have been concerned about home values over the past several years, their's in particular. I am asked the questions all the time how is real estate doing now in Dallas Fort Worth or in their corner of the DFW Metroplex? What we are currently seeing is a market where homes are selling and if priced right they are selling quickly, for instance the Median price point of a single family home in the DFW Metroplex has been hovering around $150,000 for a number of years. We have not really seen any big price swings one way or the other at that price point. We have seen a fair number of foreclosures and short sales over the past few years, something that was much less common in 2006, especially short sales, we seldom saw one of these back then. Other factors that have been working against some buyers and sellers is the state of the lending process for real estate loans in Dallas and other areas of the country. Requirements for real estate loans have certainly become more cumbersome. This leads to a process that takes a bit longer and requires a home buyer in Dallas Fort Worth to actually need a reasonably good credit history, which is really how loans should have worked 6 years ago. The nice thing about 2012 is that the interest rates for many borrowers on home loans remain at an all time low and can make payments very affordable when comparing to renting. The best thing to do is to check with a lender who will do a No-obligation, no cost, pre-approval for you before you head out the door looking for your next home. If you bought a home 6 years ago, I can assure you the process has changed a bit so don't hesitate to get with a lender who can help you decide if now is the right time for you to take advantage of the real estate market in Dallas and Fort Worth and the low interest rates. Ready Lending is always available to help customers who have questions or would like to submit an online application without cost or obligation.
