Since the 1960s national forest products week was declared, celebrated and acknowledged by the sitting presidents. This is important because it highlights the industries and the importance of conserving our forests environmental integrity. The forest products industry is responsible for employing 950,000 people in the U.S. The week is always held on the third week of October and the forest products community represents around 4% of America's GDP.
