Hello friends!Just a few updates to keep you all apprised of our goings on around here:1. The Ecuador Las TolasHere is the beloved Ecuador Las Tolas. An extremely rare offering for us. Ecuador itself only produces about 100 containers of coffee a year. To give some perspective; Colombia produces over 32,000! (Each container is around 40,000 lbs)So, needless to say, coffee from Ecuador is a fairly unique find. Add that to the fact that there is only so much specialty grade coffee in Ecuador, and we start considering coffees like this to not just be a good find but a more like a needle in a haystack!Because this coffee is such a rare offering for us, we are producing around five bags a week at our shop. Once they are gone, then they are gone till we roast it and stock it again on Wednesdays. But never fear my online friends! You can place an order online anytime and we will get it to you by that next Wednesday (by bike of course if you live in Long Beach, or at least in the mail if you live elsewhere).2. Ethiopia GujiWe have just approved a delicious, washed Ethiopian coffee and so you should see it coming into the shop and online very soon. Think lemon wafer cookies and complex floral notes with just enough of that red fruit and cocoa to round the whole thing out. Very excited about offering this coffee and we are looking forward to this being the start of many more delicious offerings from this country as more of the harvest rolls through...3. The El EspressoAlways evolving. The El Espresso this week is identical to last week's recipe. The next few weeks, however, should see the addition of the aforementioned Ethiopian coffees as they roll in providing that floral finish that we all know and love.That's it for now!
