San Diego joins more than 300 hundred California communities that have adopted the Program to encourage sustainability, to create jobs locally, and to stimulate the economy.Douglas Macmillan of California Showcase Construction explains that "the reason why HERO works is because it puts people to work. Specifically, HERO has created more than 4,300 jobs, funded more than 26,500 residential projects, and provided more than $514 million in financing to homeowners across California.Other green sector jobs will actually be created," says council member, Todd Gloria. He worked to bring HERO to San Diego.
