Sensitive Sweets Blog How to get additional Nutrition in an Allergic Diet

When you have a child like mine who's allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, treenuts and coconut....it's tricky to get the proper nutrients in his daily diet. On top of that he's a picky eater. So this really gets tough! Here's what we do for our son, and he's growing well mentally and physically.Smoothies: We make ours every day and it's super easy: 1/2 cup of FRESH Organic Spinach or Kale (kale is more bitter, so my son prefers spinach)1/4 cup of Fresh Organic Blueberries1/4 cup of Pomegranite Juice1/4 cup Organic grape juice or Apple juiceIf your little one doesn't eat carrots, try adding a little Organic Carrot juice. Change it up and use Peaches, Strawberries, Oranges. You can use a strainer if your little one doesn't like the pulp. I prefer the pulp so we fill full. You can add a calcium or protein powder if necessary. We drink enriched milks (rice, flax, or hemp milk). Sneak in pumpkin into your pancakes and muffins. I love our pumpkin donut holes and our flax seed muffins.Vitamins: We use Juice Plus gummies because its convenient. There are other gummies out there, just be sure to get the most nutrition. Some are just full of sugar or corn syrup. Read the labels and ask questions.
