The latest BookStats industry study found that e-books were now 20% of the book business (and starting to plateau). If you turn that statistic around that means that 80% of book business is still good old-fashioned printed books. I hardly call that an eclipse. Borders went down and Barnes & Noble may be struggling but independent booksellers grew by 65. The landscape is obviously changing but on my last airplane flight, I was glad I could still read my old fashioned book to kill the time when everyone else had to put their electronic devices away. Print is not dead... in books anyway... I wish that the industry and media would acknowledge the existing print fraction.
