As the sun dips lower and lower in the sky, the heat of a hot Sunday afternoon is slowly replaced with refreshing breezes and a sound the locals know all too well.Every Sunday evening, just an hour before the sunset, members of the community gather on Siesta Key Beach between the lifeguard stands #3 and #4 to celebrate another beautiful Sarasota weekend and welcome the incoming week. What starts out as a simple, tribal beat from a few percussionists, soon turns into a huge circle featuring at least a dozen different drums. Hula hoopers and belly and interpretive dancers are also commonplace in the large circle.Come to Siesta Key Beach and see why this attraction has been a local and tourist favorite for more than a decade!
