Simmons & Company: Behind the deal: Simmons & Co. managing director on its $139M deal

Houston-based Simmons & Co. International, an independent investment bank specializing in the energy industry, was scooped up by Minneapolis-based Piper Jaffray for a cool $139 million. Piper Jaffray will pay $91 million in cash and $48 million in restricted stock for the company.
