If an older Virginian you love has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related form of dementia, you may be concerned about how safe they are living alone. Understandably so. Almost everyone has watched the news media tell the story of an older adult with dementia wandering away from home. But the vast majority of seniors want to stay in their own home for as long as possible, and that includes those living with dementia. What should adult children do in this situation?First off, don't automatically assume your senior loved one is no longer able to take care of themselves.
