Basic Cigar Info:Name: Camacho ConnecticutStrength: Mild - MediumWrapper: ConnecticutOrigin: HondurasShape: CoronaFiller: Dominican, HonduranLength: 5.5Ring Gauge: 44Camacho Cigars was started in 1961 when founder Simon Camacho was exiled from Cuba to Miami. Recently purchased by Davidoff, Camacho Cigars went through a rebranding campaign where a lot of the old blends went under the axe. The Connecticut blend survived all this and I think cigar smokers should be glad. A nice mild to medium cigar that every smoker should become familiar with. The Camacho Connecticut features a nice light brown wrapper with veins in all the right places and no visible seam. There isn't a lot of give in the cigar as it's packed full of lots of good Dominican and Honduran tobacco. When Camacho rebranded they changed the band, going with a universal band that is different colors for the different blends. The Connecticut has a large, light orange band with Camacho across it horizontally and underneath that is the scorpion logo. The cap held up great to a punch cutter and the cold drawer was a little stiff. The aroma was a nice hay and grass flavor with a very earthy smell in the foot. I also noticed a little hint of sweetness in the cigar. The first third lit fine and put forth lots of nice creamy smoke. There was a nice flavor of hay and grass with some hints of oak flavor. It was very smooth and pleasant and smoked well. The burn was a little wavy but nothing to be worried about. The ash held until the end of the first third. The second third started out great with the burn working itself out. The flavor was nice and earthy with still some subtle hints of oak. About halfway through the second third a nice molasses flavor became present. The final third burned really even and smooth. The grassiness came back in the final third but with a nice sweet molasses flavor. It was very pleasant throughout. The end was just a little too long.I had never smoked a Camacho cigar in my life. I hadn't heard too much about them and I wasn't sure what to expect. Alter smoking a Camacho, I think everyone needs to go out and buy a box or two to enjoy. You could share them with your friends of course.....but no one is going to blame you if you save them for yourself.Final Verdict Ratings:Flavor: 8Value: 8Complexity: 7Finish: 7Aroma: 8Strength: 8Overall: 8
