Streetlife Blog Show your local high street some love!

After a hugely successful 2015 competition, the Great British High Street Competition is back searching England, Scotland and Wales for the nation's best high streets.High streets of all shapes and sizes, from city centres full of national chains to smaller centres with a greater presence from independents, can be nominated in an array of categories such as Market Town Category or Rising Star Award (which is looking for high streets that are turning around their fortunes) in a bid to promote local businesses and boost local pride. This year, there is also the opportunity for individuals - local business owners, store managers or people involved in markets - who are working hard to make their local areas better to be recognised through the brand new High Street Hero categories. Head over to the Great British High Street website to find out more about the competition, including how to apply and guidance.
