Christmas is just around the corner, and households all over Ireland are getting ready for the holidays, stocking up on all the essentials ahead of the big day. From cheese and chocolate to wine, whiskey and all the Christmas dinner trimmings, people have been getting their fridges stocked up ahead of the last minute rush to stores next Tuesday. While lots of people have gotten all of their shopping done early, many people may not have touched their Christmas list yet, but thankfully a great deal of the major supermarkets have extended opening hours in the lead up to Christmas Day . From Aldi to Supervalu and every store in between, here's our guide to the Christmas week supermarket opening hours: Dunnes Stores All Dunnes Stores branches in Ireland will shut for Christmas Day and for St Stephen's Day, with reduced hours over the Christmas period. Lidl Lidl will shut nationwide on Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day and New Year's Day , with reduced hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
