TUCSON, AZMorning TRF Fans- Sorry for the long delay, like all of us, it seems to have been a busy year. I received my TRF419X the night that I got to The Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions. I stayed up all night to get it built to run the first day in seeded practice. The only advice that I have for anyone, is to be sure to be fully rested when building a car for this type of race. If I remember, I was up for 48 straight hours after the first day of practice. And with no sleep, driving wasn't good either, displaying the durability of the new 419x.LiveRC.comREDRC.net The only problem with the build that gave me an issue was the new battery holders. The bottom side had a burr that kept cutting my battery tape when I hit the "Kink." I recommend sanding (I used and emery board) to soften the bottom edge.I had a few electronic issues with servos and sensor boards throughout the Reedy weekend which affected my results. The new car felt great and was a stable alternative to the TRF419 right out of the box. The factory team had me change the box setup slightly by adding another spacer on the rear camber link (makes it shorter) and change that inner rear ballstud washer to a 2mm. They had me remove the center post for the top deck and go to a 1.5mm ballstud washer in the front inner camber. The forward rear blocks were also changed to the X blocks and SMJ short silver springs all around.Since then, I have ran a few club days at my localish club in the Phoenix area on their prepared parking lot track. I changed from running modified at Reedy to running 17.5 blinky for club racing. The track has a lot of bite and higher ambient temps have had me change a few more things. I went to the 05F blocks in the front to narrow it up some. I have also increased the shock oil to 600cst and rear diff oil to 7K. I am also going to reduce the rear toe by going to the 1E rear/rear block. That's about all I know right now, I still have a very busy summer left with my family and we are looking forward to the temperatures to cool off so we can enjoy the outside again. Thanks to the whole TRF team, everyone was very helpful all Reedy weekend and a great time. It is rated at the top of my favorite races to attend and its on my calendar every year.Hope everyone is doing great!! BradThanks to LiveRC.com and RedRC.net for the photos.
