The Bark: Investment fund accused of conning clients out of $700M, potentially state's largest Ponzi scheme

Lafayette company Bar-K Inc. is accused of conning 1,500 Bay Area residents and other investors out of $700 million in what might be one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in California history, the Mercury News reported. Bar-K business associates Walter Ng, Kelly Ng and Bruce Horwitz are being accused in a civil class-action lawsuit of defrauding investors mostly from Contra Costa and Alameda counties out of hundreds of millions of dollars in IRA accounts, inheritances and other assets.
