Why do I love my job? Because, every day, I get to help people. Sometimes,it's by planting a seed of information to be germinated later, sometimes by leading someone over a hill of fear or injury (or fear of injury!) and sometimes a person just needs a new program for inspiration. Years ago I had a Personal Training client in her 60s who had never really exercised; she wanted to get stronger because the physical aspects of life were becoming more challenging for her. So, together we worked, consistently and gently pressing her limits on strength and balance. Then, one day, she excitedly told me that she had been able to walk down a long staircase without holding onto the handrail. For many of us that's no big deal, but to her it was an affirmation that one, her work in the gym was paying off and two, she would be able to continue participating fully in life. I once had a member ask me when I was going to get a "real" job. Well, what I do may not seem like a "real" job and I guess it is not a typical job but either way, I am lucky. I feel secure in saying that the other fitness trainers feel the same as I. The reason we do what we do is because we love it. Every one of us wants to see every one of you reach your fitness potential. We are happy for your successes and we are here to support and help you when you need it. We trainers have many ways to facilitate your goal achievement not the least of which is our combined education and experience. Please remember, as a member of the CAC you are entitled to a free appointment every 3 months. Additionally, we have one-on-one personal training. Last month we started a fabulous new program of Small Group Training. I believe at least one of these options will work for you. In my life I have shelled out more than a few dollars for lessons of various kinds. I have participated in half-marathon training groups and taken many, many, many group and individual horseback riding lessons. From my own experience I can unequivocally say that I get better results with lessons than just doing it on my own. That's why I am going to plug the Small Group Training for just a second. I really believe, if you are looking for more knowledge and better results, Small Group Training can work for you. It also provides camaraderie and accountability and it is much less expensive than one-on-one training. Check it out - this month we are offering FREE demonstration classes. Sign up for a couple different ones to see what results oriented small group training can do for you
