Portlanders take Brunch very seriously, it very well be THE most important meal of the day. If you want to get a real feel for Portland, we highly suggest participating in this near ritualistic activity. After all, if you are visiting Portland, you should be prepared to relax, indulge, and have a little fun. Read below for our favorite places and some tips on how to make the most out of your meal.If you are like us, you probably want to roll out of bed, out the door, and wander straight to brunch. If you are staying at the Heathman, that probably means you want to stay somewhere pretty close. We recommend the Heathman (the Salmon Hash is amazing, roasted breakfast potatoes are spot on, and there are fresh baked scones.) Tasty 'N Alder is one of our favorite hot-spots; with a casual atmosphere and "family style" dining you can't go wrong ordering a table full of small plates. The Potatoes Bravas are a personal favorite. Mother's Bistro is tried and true, one of the best places for "white tablecloth" dining, and every item on the menu is somebody's mother's recipe. Other down-town locations to note are Brix (hello "Bubbles for Every Bite"), Irving St. Kitchen, and Veritable Quandary (get it before it's gone!).For those looking to explore a bit further, you will find some of Portland's best restaurants on the "East Side" in the residential neighborhoods. Tin Shed on Alberta is amazing- (you can even bring your dog!) as is Helser's. City State Diner is the place you want to be if you love Egg's Benedicts, and Jam on Hawthorne has plenty to choose from no matter what dietary preference you have. Don't forget to try Pine State Biscuits.
Heathman Hotel is an Oregon-based hotel that offers dining, accommodation, event management and wedding spaces for individuals, families and corporates.
