Tipsy: Tempe nightlife app acquired by New York's Hooch members-only cocktail app

Tempe-based nightlife app Tipsy has been acquired by a similar but larger New York City-based app company for an undisclosed price. Hooch, a members-only cocktail app that debuted in November 2015, chose to buy Tipsy to expand into the Arizona nightlife market and take advantage of Tipsy's technology, said Tipsy founder and CEO Eli Chmouni.
