Tripadvisor: Cheltenham restaurant makes Tripadvisor top 10

An Indian restaurant in Cheltenham has been ranked eighth in the UK for fine dining by Tripadvisor. The Mahal on Montpellier Drive, in the shadow of Eagle Tower, opened in July last year, following the closure of Spice Lodge in 2020. As reviewer John T wrote on Tripadvisor recently: "It is definitely NOT a "curry house". This is a top class Indian restaurant. The staff are passionate about quality and service. The food was really excellent." And reviewer Janet Williams wrote last month: "This restaurant offers simply the best Indian food I have ever tasted in my life. You know you have come across an excellent Indian chef when you can taste all the nuances and flavours of all the spices, but blend together to create the most perfect combination." The Mahal was recognised by Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice 2022 rankings, which are based on ratings and reviews on Tripadvisor from the past year.
