Unilens: Vancouver pharma subsidiary to buy Unilens for $28 million

Unilens Vision Inc. signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by a subsidiary of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International. Valeant (NYSE: VRX) will pay $12.75 in cash for each share of stock of Unilens (OTCQX: UVIC), a Vancouver firm that manufactures contact lenses in Largo. Unilens stock closed at $10.25 a share on Friday, before the deal was announced. The total value of the deal is $28 million, including about $5 million in debt, a statement said.
