Starting with the 2014 camping season, River's Edge Camping & Cabins in Connellsville, PA, is officially one of the newest KOA parks, KOA-Uniontown. A grand opening celebration will occur later this Spring at the 167-site park situated along the Great Allegheny Bike trail and the Youghiogheny River. In 2005, owners Denise Gallo and Deene Yenchochic took a chance on a park that they thought might have "potential". They focused on one goal: happy campers. And, after ten years of hard work, a dedicated staff and plenty of friends and family helping out, they are proud to say that their "park with potential" now has the KOA stamp of approval. They have led their team over the last ten years to transform a failing RV park business into a profitable, customer service award-winning park.Denise says, "Returning to my hometown and running a successful business gives me great satisfaction. I always remember thinking 'that campground is really a diamond in the rough' and now I think others can see what a gem it is, too."Denise Gallo has always focused on winning and being her personal best. A two-time Kodak All-American for Women's Collegiate Basketball and earning a bachelor of science in business from the University of Pittsburgh, setting and achieving goals has always been her game plan. Denise spent several successful years in the mortgage industry honing her financial skills and learning about the importance of strong customer service.Denise says, "I enjoy that in the campground business every single day is a new challenge and a new opportunity to please our guests. I really love being hands-on with our team and our customers, from crunching the numbers to making sure each ice cream scoop is just right every time. Applying the KOA standards will help us to continue to raise the bar on our customer service focus."Deene Yenchochic has been effectively leading teams and strategic initiatives for more than 20 years in non-profit higher education as well as for-profit business. As Chief Operating Officer of JesuitNET Global, she leads the development and implementation of operational processes and procedures to facilitate an efficient, effective, entrepreneurial and creative organizational team. Deene earned a bachelor of science from West Virginia University and a master of science in project management and leadership from Regis University.Deene says, "The campground business gives me the opportunity to combine all the things I love to do. I get to work with great people, create successful systems and solutions, and push some gravel on my favorite ride-my Bobcat skid loader!""We invite you to give the Uniontown KOA a try! Enjoy floating down the Youghiogheny River back to the banks of camp. Or, ride along the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail that runs parallel to camp. Or, just enjoy a fun community bonfire while listening to good music. There's plenty to do or just take time to relax-you choose! Hope to see you soon so we can prove to be your favorite place to stay!"Kampgrounds of America, the world's largest network of 485 family-friendly campgrounds, was born on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962.Visit the new KOA-Uniontown online at UNIONTOWN KOA
