We are excited to showcase our brand new features called Chaptering and Timeline Tagging. It provides a quick video content overview and allows for easy navigation to viewers! In this blog post we will explain step by step how to implement the chaptering function and all its features. Here's a demo of our own interactive video with Chaptering and Timeline Tagging:Vidzor - Interactive VideosGetting Started with ChapteringFirst upload all the videos you would like to include in your project from the library. (*Pro tip: These videos should already be cut at the points where the individual chapters should begin and end.) Next, go into "edit" the main video. The main video can be recognized by the yellow triangle illustrating a black star in the upper right corner. Preferences can be changed by clicking on "Project Settings" and changing the "Start video of project" i.e. the main video.Linking up your videosChaptering can be enabled by linking your videos together with our video-link application. First, drag-and-drop the video-link application onto your canvas and select the video you would like to link to in the settings. You might notice that the app is visible when placing it on the canvas. In order to camouflage the app you need to configure the settings to the following: remove the text, untick both the background and border colour and diminish the opacity to 0%. You can decrease the size of the box and drag it to somewhere in the corner. By doing so the application will not be visible once the video project is published. Enabling video ChapteringFrom the library in your Vidzor account you can either create a new project or use an existing one. Don't forget to unpublish your existing project first, but be aware that it may affect your analytics, for help with this you can contact us. The Chaptering function can be found in the project settings; click on the half cogwheel shaped icon and select Chaptering on the upper blue bar. After clicking on the chaptering button, a new menu will open along with three options; project settings, player settings and chaptering. Click on the "Chaptering" option and tick the "enable chaptering" box. The Chaptering menuAfter ticking the enable chapering box, the full menu will appear. A tag will be included on the sidebar and on the timeline on the upper blue bar automatically. Of course, this option can also be excluded by deselecting any of the boxes. As you may notice, the names of the chapters are exactly the same as the video-link titles. These can be renamed at anytime.How-to Rename a chapterA chapter can simply be renamed by clicking on the title of a chapter. Enter the new title and press "OK".How-to Re-order a chapterYou just opened the chaptering menu but discovered that the videos need to be re-arranged? By clicking on the re-order option you can easily change your video sequence with a simple drag-and-drop. The re-order option is illustrated by the 3 grey lined icon next to the checkbox on the right.How-to Exclude a chapterThe videos with checked boxes will been included in the Chaptering. To exclude a chapter, simply uncheck the "include" box. As the screenshot indicates, the excluded chapters will not be numbered and will change to grey.Important! The chaptering will ONLY be finalized by clicking on the "SAVE" button. Do not forget to click it as otherwise changes can't be saved!Timeling TaggingBy implementing a Tag in your videos, the viewer is able to see any segment of the video you wish to point out, questions, or anything you would like to highlight in the video timeline. You can set the Tag app timing, create indiviudal titles and adjust the color in the Tag settings. The title of the Tag will be the title that will appear in the Chaptering of the published video by default. The Chaptering in the published video will also automatically pickup the timeline tags.Get started! Now it's your turn!
