Volkswagen is all set to launch the new Tiguan R-Line in India on 14 April. Just before its official launch, the SUV has reached the Indian shores, and was spotted undisguised being off-loaded a truck. The '4Motion' badge on the car portrays the brand's 4Motion AWD system that will send power to all four wheels. Powering the Tiguan R-Line will be a 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine, mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox. This India-spec model will churn out 201bhp and 320Nm torque, as confirmed by the carmaker. Volkswagen has also confirmed six colour options, of which the Persimmon Red Metallic and Cipressino Green Metallic can be seen in the images. In terms of design, the Tiguan R-Line is identical to the standard Tiguan, save for a larger grille, R badges, sportier bumpers, larger 19-inch alloy wheels with a different design, and connected LED tail lights. Inside the Tiguan R-Line's cabin, notable updates include redesigned AC vents and a larger touchscreen system. The dashboard features a more minimalistic layout, differentiating it from the outgoing model. That said, the steering wheel and the foot pedals are carried over. Besides, it's packed with advanced features, including Level 2 ADAS. Volkswagen will launch the Tiguan R-Line this month as a fully-imported model via the CBU route. The carmaker has started the pre-launch bookings across all Volkswagen dealerships and Volkswagen's official website.
