This information is based on an ongoing 10-year study based on a 5-year interim analysis. The study found that patients who have used Actos over time and with high doses, are at an increased risk for bladder cancer.AvandiaAvandia is also diabetes medication used to treat patients with type 2 diabetes. However, Avandia has been linked to heart problems, and ever since, the FDA has limited Avandia's availability on the European and U.S. markets. An FDA study shows that from 1999-2009, more than 47,000 people taking Avandia needlessly suffered a heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and/or died.
