{socialbuttons}Another Life Taken By Fungal MeningitisThe Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported another death in Maryland caused by the fungal meningitis outbreak transmitted by the now-recalled medication injections.Update on the Outbreak According to the CDC that nationwide, 590 cases of illnesses, including 37, deaths have been linked to a specialty pharmacy. The New England Compounding Center (NECC) distributed the contaminated pain injections.The CDC is continuing to work with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as state and local health departments in "investigating a multistate outbreak of fungal meningitis and other infections among patients who received contaminated preservative-free MPA steroid injections from NECC."
